Josh Lamberton has served as Chief Executive Officer of Whiptail Midstream since founding the company in March 2016. He brings 27 years of experience in operations, commercial, and business development across natural gas, natural gas liquids, and crude oil. Under his leadership, Whiptail invested in a San Juan Basin midstream company in March 2016 and successfully divested the asset in March 2025.

Prior to founding Whiptail, Josh was Chief Commercial Officer for Rimrock Energy Partners, a subsidiary of Rimrock Midstream. Earlier in his career, he spent 16 years with Williams Companies, where he most recently led business development efforts for Access Midstream, which was acquired by Williams in 2014.

Josh holds a B.S. in Business from Texas Christian University and an MBA in Finance from Oklahoma State University. He and his wife, Tara, have three sons—two work in the oil and gas and the youngest is a student at Rogers State College.
