Whiptail Midstream was founded in 2016 by a management team with experience throughout the midstream and upstream sectors of the energy industry. Concurrent with our founding, Whiptail purchased a gathering system in the San Juan Basin Gallup oil window, southeast of Farmington, New Mexico. Whiptail Midstream currently has equity backing from I Squared Capital. Whiptail Midstream sold the gathering system to a subsidiary of MPLX LP during the first quarter of 2025. Whiptail management is experienced across:

Condensate handling
Produced/Fresh water handling
