Whiptail Midstream was founded in 2016 with its first investment in an oil, natural gas and water gathering system situated in the San Juan Basin. Whiptail safely operated this system for 10 years before divesting the assets in early 2025. Whiptail started its second chapter in February of 2026 with the acquisition of a natural gas gathering system located in the Anadarko basin.
